CHRISTMAS 2024
Christmas is a very special time for Ironbridge Lions club. Many people, now parents or even grandparents, have fond childhood memories of Santa touring the streets in the Ironbridge Lions sleigh. Sadly touring the streets in the sleigh is no longer legally possible but Christmas is still a time when we remember, and try to help, those less fortunate than ourselves.
SANTA AND SLEIGH
The first opprtunity to see Santa this year will be at the Madeley Christmas Lights event on 30th November. Santa will be in his grotto before he switches on the lights.He will also be in his sleigh at Tesco, Wrekin retail park on 1st and 8th December and at Tesco Madeley on 14th and 15th December
FOOD COLLECTIONS
Food poverty is always distressing, but particularly so at Christmas. Each year, , we collect around 4 tons of non-perishable food items in the period from early October to Christmas.
This food is distributed to individuals and families in genuine need through a number of charitable and local government agencies over the Christmas and New Year period.
